The Problem
David Turner, an experienced affiliate marketing coach, was offering a free "Affiliate Marketing Starter Guide" on his landing page.
Despite having a solid offer, his conversion rate lingered at just 4%.
David believed the issue stemmed from overwhelming technical details on the page, causing visitors, many of whom were beginners—to feel confused and disengaged.
We analyzed David’s landing page and identified several key areas to improve:
1. Simplified the messaging:
We rewrote the copy to make it more accessible to beginners, focusing on the benefits of affiliate marketing like "Earn Passive Income Without a Product of Your Own" rather than technical jargon.
2. Added a step-by-step breakdown:
We included a clear, visual breakdown of the process, outlining the steps visitors would take after downloading the guide. This made the process feel less daunting.
3. Increased social proof:
We added case studies and success stories from David’s previous students, showing how they turned affiliate marketing into a lucrative side income.
4. Clearer CTA placement:
The call-to-action button was buried on the page, so we placed multiple, bold CTAs throughout the page, including at the top where it was immediately visible.
After these updates, David’s opt-in conversion rate surged from 4% to 13%. The improved messaging and structure resonated more with beginners, bringing in a higher number of quality leads who were eager to learn about affiliate marketing.
